Swapping the life conventional for the ride of a lifetime – a short video presentation and Q&A
This couple have been filling the pages of Overland with Lisa’s engaging text and Jason’s stunning images for nearly 4 years, but they’re finally back in the UK and will be talking about, and then screening, a selection of Jason’s videos.
British born, they are self-confessed thrill-seekers; their motivating force is adventure travel. Over the last four and a half years, they’ve clocked 80,000 miles through 21 countries from Antarctica to the Arctic on a BMW F800GS and F650GS (which Lisa swapped for a Suzuki DR650 2.5-years into the trip).
While Lisa adores riding on dirt, she equally cherishes a big hike to a backcountry campsite. Not the most natural off-road rider, she’s living proof that you can pass your test and go. Near or far, it’s very empowering!
Jason loves all things photography. Ultimately, amid the wild places left in the world. With an infatuation for chasing light in big open spaces comes the pursuit of taking pictures, which has been his addiction since age fourteen. His globally published stills portfolio is now bolstered by his skilled drone pilotry and videography art. The short films they’ll be screening include ‘What it’s like to travel on a cargo ship to South America’, ‘The road to Copahue, Argentina’ and ‘In pursuit of whales’.
